Company History
Jacques P. Stassart, M.D.,
came from the University of Minnesota, where he had been the
interim head of the Reproductive Medicine Division, to direct
the Reproductive Health Associates (RHA, St. Paul, Minnesota)
In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) Program in 1994. Following the dissolution
of RHA in December 1998, Dr. Stassart assumed the
RHA facility lease and, with the help of many former RHA
employees, established Reproductive Medicine and
Infertility Associates (RMIA). Within six months, he was joined
by another experienced (particularly in the IVF field)
Reproductive Endocrinologist, Ricardo H. Castillo,
M.D., and by one of the leading Embryologists in the nation,
Dr. David Ball, who brought along his team.
In May of 2002, RMIA moved to its current
location in Woodbury, Minnesota.
By September 2003, a third Reproductive Endocrinologist
with many years of experience, Romaine B. Bayless,
M.D., joined the practice. In January 2005, RMIA
was able to recruit Daniel A. Dumesic, M.D., which
allowed RMIA to expand its presence to Edina, while adding
a strong “Research
flavor” to the practice, which, ultimately, will
help RMIA fulfill its goal (see mission statement)
Mission Statement
To provide to our
clients those resources which will ensure the highest
probability of success in achieving pregnancy. While
accomplishing this goal through education and current
technology, RMIA recognizes the importance of providing,
at all times, an environment of compassion, mutual respect
and accessibility to its patients.
Quality
Assurance
We are proud to announce the implementation of
our ISO 9001:2000 certified Quality Management System.
RMIA is the second IVF clinic in the United States
of America to provide ISO certified services.
Our Quality Management System has been designed to
meet and surpass standards expected by patients. The
ISO 9001:2000 stamp is equivalent to quality service
provided to patients on a consistent basis. Processes
are streamlined and continuously improved upon to form
efficient systems, which allow us to focus on what matters
most: patients.
