G. David Ball, Ph.D., is the laboratory director at RMIA. He has over 23 years of experience in helping couples with infertility at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, Methodist Hospital and North Memorial Health Campus in the twin cities and since 1999, at RMIA. Dr. Ball has a B.S. and M.S. from the University of Georgia, a Ph.D from the University of Missouri, and Post Doctoral training at the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Ball is well recognized as a premier embryologist and a leader in the field of assisted reproductive technologies (ART), laboratory management and quality assurance. He heads an impressive team of specialists in andrology, chemistry and embryology, all with experience and training at major infertility centers. He and his laboratory colleagues analyze and support the physicians needs for accurate laboratory data and assist in the decision making process for treatment. All laboratories are located within the same clinical area at RMIA, thereby providing convenience for the patients and immediate access to information by the staff. Dr. Ball also interacts with numerous IVF programs and professional organizations around the country which allows networking, the sharing of ideas and quality control data, all of which keeps RMIA on the cutting edge of current ART procedures.
