Responsible Embryo Transfer Guidelines

Standard Guidelines for the Transfer of Fresh and Frozen Pre-Embryos
• The standard transfer policy of Reproductive Medicine & Infertility Associates (“RMIA”) is shown by age group and number of pre-embryos transferred to the female’s uterus.
• For qualified patients, RMIA will consider performing a single embryo transfer (SET). Download details.

2 or 3 based on the age of donor and preference of recipient ( see above guidelines)

1. Optimal quality embryos are currently defined as such for patients <36 y.o.:

a) “Lead embryo” has cleaved into 8 or more cells and are is judged by the embryology staff to be “Grade 1 or 2.”, OR has cleaved into 6 or 7 cells and is judged by the embryology staff to be “Grade 1”.

b) “Next best embryo” has cleaved into 5 or more cells and is judged by the embryology staff to be “Grade 1 or 2.”

2. Optimal quality embryos in >35 y.o.are currently defined as having cleaved into 8 or more cells and are being judged by the embryology staff to be “Grade 1 or 2.”, OR having cleaved into 6 or 7 cells and being judged by the embryology staff to be “Grade 1”.
