If you accept testing, the female patient is screened first (results take about 2 weeks and no physician appointments can be scheduled until results are received). If the female comes back as a carrier for anything, we would then screen the male. Keep in mind, this can delay treatment by 4 weeks or more. For cost information, Click Here
Patient will choose an egg donor from the egg bank's donor list whose eggs have been previously retrieved and cryopreserved. Eggs received from donor egg banks are thawed on the same day as the insemination of the eggs and the remainder of the procedure is then just the same as a standard donor egg IVF cycle.
RMIA and Minnesota Perinatal Physicians (MPP) are two specialty groups attempting to manage the conception and pregnancy of women at risk. Often patients seek our care prior to seeing a physician for a yearly physical examination. During our consultation, we rely on data that is typically obtained by primary physicians in the process of routine health maintenance. At times, we are not able to adequately complete our assessment and provide recommendations because critical information is unavailable to us at the time of consultation. As a result, as a group we have developed a list of items that we would like to have in the available prior to a pre-conception consultation visit with MPP: • Serum cholesterol • Baseline EKG (if over 40 years old) • Hemoglobin within the last 12 months • Hemoglobin A1C • Thyroid function tests • Recent mammogram • Any relevant supporting documents: operative notes, radiology reports, etc
