Reproductive Medicine & Infertility Associates (RMIA) is a highly specialized infertility center focusing on in vitro fertilization, specifically devoted to delivery of care for infertile couples and individuals. The core of our practice’s mission is to provide infertility services in a compassionate and responsible fashion. The clinic boasts state of the art laboratories and surgery centers at its two locations in Woodbury and Edina, as well as outcomes that consistently rank higher than the national average.
In addition, RMIA has established relationships with over 100 clinics nation-wide to provide convenient care and monitoring for our non-local patients.
RMIA believes in the importance of continuity of care, meaning that the physician you see for consent signing will be the physician who oversees your care and will perform your embryo transfer most of the times, as opposed to the frequently observed model in which the on-call physician performs all the procedures on a given day or week.
The clinic’s founder Dr. Jacques Stassart founded RMIA in 1999. Dr. Stassart served as the interim head of the Reproductive Medicine Division of the University of Minnesota in 1992 and 1993. In 1994 he became the Director of the In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) Program at Reproductive Health Associates (RHA, St. Paul, MN). Following the dissolution of RHA in December 1998, Dr. Stassart assumed the facility lease and, along with many former RHA employees, established Reproductive Medicine and Infertility Associates (RMIA). Within the first six months of RMIA being opened, Dr. Stassart was joined by one of the leading Embryologists in the nation, Dr. David G. Ball. Along with Dr. Ball came his highly trained lab team.
RMIA moved to its current location in Woodbury, Minnesota in May 2002. In 2008, RMIA opened a second facility in Edina, Minnesota. Dr. Phoebe Leonard joined the RMIA team in August 2015, from the University of Minnesota, and brought several experienced staff members with her.
To provide to our patients, those resources which will ensure the highest probability of success in achieving pregnancy. While accomplishing this goal through education and current technology, RMIA recognizes the importance of providing, at all times, an environment of compassion, mutual respect and accessibility to its patients.
